Antenatal Breastfeeding Workshop
IN-PERSON WORKSHOP IN WYMONDHAM, NORFOLK
Approx 2.5 HOURS | £90
That Little Norfolk Shop & Studio, The Abbey Schoolrooms, Church Street, Wymondham, NR18 0PH.
Did you know that 8 out of 10 women in the UK stop breastfeeding before they want to? The sharpest drop-off in breastfeeding occurs in the first few days after giving birth and the most common reasons are sore nipples and low milk supply, both of which are often caused by ineffective positioning and attachment.
This comprehensive workshop aims to provide you with the necessary knowledge, skills and realistic expectations of breastfeeding a newborn baby. Led by myself – an experienced practising community midwife and an IBCLC lactation consultant, who feels passionate about providing breastfeeding support and has supported countless new parents during their breastfeeding journeys. This is a practical session and you will have the use of a weighted newborn-sized doll and a knitted breast for the duration of the workshop.
Partners are welcome (free of charge) and encouraged to attend as they can be a great help in the early days, providing they how to support you!
Suitable from 26 weeks of pregnancy.
The breastfeeding workshop runs on demand, please check the booking page or contact me for details about the upcoming dates.

My courses take place at ‘That Little Norfolk Shop & Studio‘ at The Abbey Schoolrooms, Church Street, Wymondham, NR18 0PH. The Studio is on the first floor and sadly does not have disabled access at present (there is plan for a platform lift to be installed in the near future).
You will learn how to recognise your baby’s feeding cues, how to position and attach the baby to the breast effectively and how to recognise that your baby is feeding well and taking in enough milk. You will be able to practise holding a newborn baby, different feeding positions, correct positioning and attachment and learn how to harvest colostrum. You will be able to ask as many questions as you like.
The workshop includes a short break during which you will have an opportunity to stretch your legs, chat to other expectant parents and enjoy a hot drink and biscuits. After the workshop you will receive handouts via an email.
What clients say...
"Andrea is amazing!! If it wasn’t for her spending so much time helping me with with my baby girl’s latch and helping me to nail the rugby hold, I wouldn’t have carried on!! 3 months breastfeeding now. Eternally thankful!"
